Glorious Bradford Pears

Tulsa's streets are lined with Bradford Pears in full bloom. Spring is surely here.

I've never heard of Bradford Pear trees - do they literally bear pears?
There is a town called Bradford near to Leeds (about 15 miles away) which was renowned for its woollen industry but now has an enormous Asian population.

By the way, how's the back?

When I enlarged this picture to have a closer look at the BPs, it was quite scarey - the cars were on the wrong side of the road!

P.S. As I think you will see I appear to have somehow given myself the name of Leedslass but, for the time being, I will continue to sign off with simple Anne :-)

I talked a little about Bradford Pears a few days ago when I posted photos of all the things in bloom. Here the right side of the road is the right side to drive on. You crazy brits drive on the wrong side.

I received a lovely little book about Yorkshire from a very sweet lady in Leeds. Thank you so much!

Beautiful! The snow is only melting a bit in Ottawa, meanwhile...

Glad you got the book - it was just a little something that showed pictures of the county in which I live. We Yorkshire folk call it God's own county.
