I remember that day as if it were yesterday. What a selfish act that destroyed many lives. Hopefully never again.
We unexpectedly had to switch classrooms that morning and the news was airing the bombing in the temporary classroom. I remember it taking a while to realize this was actually our Oklahoma we were seeing and not some foreign embassy. Very sad day indeed.
Such a horrible event. Thank you for the reminder, we must not forget all those innocent lives.
That's a beautifully simple memorial for a dreadful event. I'm afraid Bill S, with the world as it is, this tragic act is more than likely to be repeated somewhere.
I don't know about this fact, I'm sorry! Just hope this won't happen again.

Solemn day for OK and the USA!
Thank you for helping us remember and commemorate all who died here so needlessly.
I don't know if you've ever been to the memorial just as the sun is beginning to set. The quietness of downtown OKC along with the solemnity of the memorial is truly breathtaking as well as heartbreaking. Garth Brooks' song "The Change certainly is a pognant reminder of what was lost that day.
Apologies, that should say poignant.
I don't remember reading about this at the time. But what an awful event! I hope that nothing like it ever happens again.
It was a very sad day, Bill. I followed the recovery efforts from down here.
I hope that with the passions that are being aroused with the TEA movement, that some person does not get something similar in their poor demented head.
It is hard enough when the attack is external, but unbearable when it is internal.
I've seen many incredibly moving photos of this memorial, and this is another. We had such an anniversary of our own on Tuesday. It's sad that we have to endure tragedies such as this, but hopefully the memorials will help us as a society to put things in proper perspective.
A very sad case !
I learned more about the bombing after I came to North America, since I was pretty young (and living in France!) when it happened.
The memorial picture looks amazing... almost a double meaning too with the "reflection".
