Red Bellied Woodpecker

I frequently get little Downy Woodpeckers at my feeders but rarely a Red Bellied Woodpecker visits. They are larger and the red extends down their neck rather than just the cap.

Lucky you to have such an exotic-looking visitor. I'm afraid our grounds are inundated with magpies, whilst beautiful looking, are total predators. We do, however, have the pleasure of seeing foxes occasionally as their den is somewhere nearby.

It would be very unusual to see a fox here. As for exotic birds at my feeder, what I have mostly are sparrows, but they need to eat too.
