Philbrook

On exhibit is a fine collection of English salon paintings all purchased at great expense by Thomas Holloway between 1880 and 1882. Holloway made his fortune selling patent medicines. These are large paintings revealing a perspective on life in Victorian England. We bought the catalog for the exhibit and plan to return again after we have read enough about the works to appreciate them better.

Hi, Bill.

I like the atmosphere of the museum! Looks very nice. Haven't been to a proper museum in a while...

What a beautiful looking museum. Here in Leeds our museum has been refurbished but I haven't yet been in it - I'm waiting for Sharon to come home at Christmas to share the experience of looking round with her. I do think museums are a sharing experience. The same with going to the cinema, much nicer to go with someone and then have film discussion after the viewing.
