I've been having some fun converting digital to sepia. McNellie's is one of a number of good restaurants and/or pubs that have inhabited some of the older buildings in several downtown Tulsa neighborhoods. I think we are going there Saturday evening to eat before the Tulsa Symphony performs. The cars out front would prevent me from claiming this to be a photo from the '30s.

Nice photograph. McNellies is a success story in downtown Tulsa.
Without the cars, you reallycould get away with telling us this was a vintage photo. Great job on the conversion! The hubby and I will probably be going there next Friday before we go see The Hobbit at the PAC.
Oooo, I like this, Tulsa Gentleman. Since it's called McNellie's is it a pub. Pubs around here (New York City) are called Dempsey's, Erin's Isle, etc. Though my name is Italian, it's my married name... I am a dyed-in the wool Irishman! :)
The sentence should read: "Since it's called McNellie's, is it a pub?
I'm still traumatized by my driving experience: when I saw the picture, the first thing I thought was "how would I parallel park behind that Hummer!" :-D

Wow, I just love these two sepia conversions. They look GREAT. Usually it doesn't do much for me. You've got to go back when there are no cars!

Yes, that does have a 1930's charm. Amazing how sepia can do that to a town.
This restaurant building stands a historic background of being the oldest restaurant building in the Tulsa City. It has been renovated now and reviving the older tradition in town.
