Fathers Day in Tulsa

I had a wonderful Father's Day. Susan served me breakfast in bed and presented me with Father's day cards hand made by Molly and Will, and another from Smokey. We went to church at our friend Greg's church, came home and took a nap. At my age that's about as much excitement as I can stand.

We had a late lunch/early supper at our favorite Chinese restaurant P. F. Chang's.

Then a great concert at the Jazz Depot. The David Teegarden Quartet with Mike Moore on trumpet, Kenny Quinn on piano and Bucky Young on bass. Excellent! I had a great day.

Bonjour Bill.

Kisses

Is David Teegarden related to Jack?
I'm not a jazz enthusiast but my husband was and I remember that name from the dim and distant past.

Belated Father's Day wishes, you were obviously very spoilt (as is right).

Elleona.

Anne - I am familiar with Jack Teegarden the trombone player and but can't find a connection with David. But Jack was married several times and had kids with more than one woman so they might be related. To tell you the truth, I was not familiar with David Teegarden until yesterday. He is a very solid drummer. But all these guys were solid. The gentleman paying piano was quite elderly and bent over the piano with very little motion but pulled a very sophisticated sound out of the grand piano. The trumpet player alternated with his flugelhorn for some very smooth jazz sound. The bass player laid a foundation for the band that was solid as a rock. I can't remember hearing better. We need to find out where they play and catch them again.
