Foot Bridge

Smokey and I drove around looking for something nice to photograph. This is a pretty scene, worthy of a Monet. Actually this is at the other end of the little lake I photographed last week. This is a beautiful neighborhood, nice houses, old trees, quiet and peaceful. Almost as nice as Micki's.

That's a lovely photograph and, as you say, reminiscent of Monet or Manet - I get mixed up between the two!!!
Lucky people to be able to live in such gorgeous surroundings.

Monet, Manet, I get them mixed up too. They were contemporaries and influenced each other. I confuse them along with Seurat and Degas. Growing up in a small town in Oklahoma did not provide me with much of an education in the arts. I have made up some ground by reading a lot and visiting good museums when I have the chance, but I am no expert.

Oh my Lord, now you've got me going to sort my Seurat's from my Degas's. Degas paints in an ethereal way with ballerinas I think but haven't a clue what pictures Seurat paints!

My own very personal preference is William Russell Flint and I have about a dozen of his prints on my walls. He's a water colourist and my treat to myself when I downsized and moved into this flat was a numbered print by his son.
Hence my own masterpieces are stuck up on the wall in the back bedroom where the computer resides.
