Tulsa Toy Run

They roared by for a long time. This guy has a kids bicycle tied on the back of his motorcycle.

Good set of pictures - even big, brawny motorcyclists have a marshmallow centre at this time of year. Lovely.

Marshmallow center - I like that. Yes, they do.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, when does your winter set in? We have started unseasonably early this year with heavy falls of snow and icy conditions. Global warming doesn't seem to apply to the UK this winter.

I feel so sorry for Sharon coming home to see me from her island home of Maui! She's having to beg and borrow warm clothing. Good job I've got a super-de-luxe electric blanket on the spare bed.

Winter in Oklahoma is nothing if not unpredictable, particularly in northeast Oklahoma where I live. I have lived here all my life and have seen snow on Halloween and shirt sleeve weather on Christmas day.

USUALLY, we get a first frost in late October or early November and a hard freeze around the last of November. By late March we are beginning to enjoy spring weather. We can have lows below 0*F (-18*C) in January and February, and highs in July and August of over 104*F (40*C).

But what really typifies our weather is is variability. Last week was suny and mild, now we have cold rain which may turn to snow overnight. The forecast for later in the week is for more mild and sunny. As our native son Will Rogers said; if you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, wait until tomorrow.
