Ruby Tuesday - Powwow Dancer

Oklahoma was originally Indian Territory and we still have more Native Americans than any other state in the union.  There are several all-tribe powwows held in Tulsa and other cities around the state with dancing and various traditional activities.   This young man is wearing a porcupine roach and is carrying a fan of Eagle feathers.

For other shades of red from all over check out Ruby Tuesday.

Great photograph. Back when son was about three or four he got very interested in pow wows so he and I saw a bunch. He learned the different dances and regalia that went with each. He lost interest but I miss going. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere.

Great blast of Ruby Red in the wardrobe. I haven't been to a powwow in ages. There used to be one in Henryetta years and years ago.
