Pawhuska, Oklahoma is the county seat of Osage County and the capital of the Osage nation. The Osage Agency, which opened here in 1872, continues its operations in Pawhuska to the present. America's first Boy Scout troop was organized here in 1909. Part of the town is built on a hillside so steep that access between side streets is made by flights of steps. We were in Pawhuska today on our way to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, about which more later.

Those steps look wonderful but I'd have to stand at the bottom (or top) to admire - no way could I cope with them.
Beautiful photo!
Nice tonal range through out the shot.
Kind of stairway to heaven?
Great B&W post!
Having lived in Owasso, it's hard for me to imagine hillsides in Oklahoma. I like the way you've photographed these stairs.
I love the way those steps look. They seem to go on for ever.
