Molly and Will helped Gramma Susan bake and decorate Christmas cookies yesterday after church. They turned out both delicious and very colorful. Good work!
Paul Winter's Winter Solstice ConcertEach year for the past 30 years the winter solstice has been celebrated by a long concert organized by Paul Winter and performed in the cavernous Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York City. Sue and I make a point of listening to it every year and promising each other that next year we will make arrangements to go to New York and attend it in person.
Another year has gone by and we will make a pot of nice tea and listen to it on the radio again. It is broadcast over National Public Radio and can be listened to live on the internet. It is a wonderful night of song and celebration. Perhaps you would like to tune in and join us. If you miss the live performance you can download the music for free at the link above. Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas.

Serious dieting in this house will not begin until January 2.
Love sugar cookies with holiday sprinkles. Making these can't help but get you in the spirit of the season.
These cookies look yummy!
In Canada, I have seen some with polar bears. A famous shop downtown sells "Obama cookies" because President Obama bought some here when visiting Ottawa in February. We missed that... we were in Brazil.
Thanks for the link, and the cookies made me drool. If I wasn't diabetic, you might have surprise company for Christmas!
What nice and collorful - really sweet!
Sorry we did not manage to listen to the concert, but I can tell it's a yearly tradition so hopefully next year!
Merry Christmas to you and your family - or Good Yule, as we say it in Norway :-)
