This is Mandevilla, a vigorous flowering vine. With showy red flowers and glossy green foliage it should look great growing on my pergola. The problem is that I don't know that it will be winter hardy here in Tulsa. Right now I have it in a big pot and plan to keep it in the pot and let it winter over in my garage. I'll let you know next spring.

I love that colour. Gorgeous flower.
Great looking blooms. This fall weather should be ideal for them. Happy WW.
Oh I love these Bill, I have one in a pot and I do leave it out all winter, BUT we never go much lower than 3C in winter here in Perth and even then very rarely!I think you get much colder there don't you.
Great macro shot and soooo colorful!

A LOVER OF SCARLET
A lover of scarlet just may,
When given the floor, have her say
About the bright shade
That lights up the glade
Like fire on a hot summer’s day!

What a vibrant color of red....beautiful. The Mandevilla is a new one to me. I really like the sweet blooms...not too little and not too big. genie
Have a Red Mandevilla, now in it's 5 year. It also is in a pretty BIG pot along with 2 schef's and a couple Boston Ferns. They winter in our Sunroom as their recommended temperature range is 40 F for a low.
I noticed these posts are 2+ years old so I'm curious if all is well with yours. I have had good fortune with mine blooming in the winter. It drives the hummingbirds crazy as they keep bumping into the window to get to the flowers. If it wasn't so cold with snow I'd open it and let them come in... BTW: I'm in the Nashville, Tn. area. Good Blessing to you!
