Ruby Tuesday - Cardinal

Nothing brightens a bird feeder like a male Cardinal.  When I was a kid we called them Redbirds and understood that they were off limits to BB guns.

I hope it was a Red Ryder BB gun.

Absolutely love the cardinal picture. Wonderful. Don't see Cardinals in Key West, but loved them so very much when I lived in the Mid West. Check out my post at #52 this week. It's my first participation in Ruby Tuesday. So much fun.

Courage doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day saying,
“I will try again tomorrow.”

There is not a more appropriate subject for Ruby Tuesday than a beautiful cardinal. Great capture.

Cardinals are something special, male or female. After a while we think we can recognize some of the individual birds.

Cardinals don't frequent my part of the country, so your photo is most welcome!

RED FOR A RUSH

O what would we do without red?
“I just can’t imagine,” she said.
“Vermilion and pink
Are colors, I think,
That make the blood rush to my head.”
