Black & White Weekend - Expo Center

Expo Center in the Tulsa Fairgrounds is an enormous open space of 448,000 square feet of which 354,000 square feet is column free space. This typically is the venue for large trade shows: the Boat show, the Home and Garden show, and others. Several corporations have paid for naming rights over the year,. It has been the Quik Trip Center, and currently is officially the River Spirit Center, but everyone still calls it the Expo Center. It's big.

It's ginormous! Now this I like in black and white!

Those architectural features, from this perspective, look like a concertina being stretched out. Great in monochrome.

A repeat performance is attractive here.

Actually, most locals I know still call it the IPE building... :)

I too love your composition on this! I want to touch it, it has such depth!

YHH - You are right, the IPE building (International Petroleum Exposition) was the original name. That was back when Tulsa was the "Oil Capitol of the world". People like us who can remember that far back might still call it the IPE Building.

This is an awesome shot - you really get the size and the rhythm of the building.

It reminds me of a bridge.
