Thursday Challenge - Art

Lots of things qualify as "Art".  Every year Tulsa has an Indian Arts and Crafts Show as part of an all-tribe Powwow.  All sorts of beautiful things are offered to include paintings, silver jewelry, bead work and all sorts of neat stuff.  My personal favorite was the ceramic horned lizard, or as we used to say when I was a kid, the "horny toad".   This one was a bit more than life size and a very handsome fellow.

That must be a wonderful show to see. I'm with you on the horny toad look. As you were only young was it the word "horny" that appealed to you? LOL. My guess is you thought you were being very risqué, using that word.
Just had a thought, maybe horny to you doesn't mean what it means over here?!!!!

Leedslass, the 'horny' term does mean the same, but when we were kids, it referred to the creatures external appendages. We didnt know that sort of stuff at the age when one was chasing and catching lizards. At least I didnt... Bill, although older than I and from an even more innocent age, may have indeed been aware as he is obviously much more intelligent and 'tuned in' than I. ;)

YHH got it right. That is a horny toad because of all his horny spikes. The other meaning of sexual yearning didn't come to me until some time later when one of the big boys explained it to me.

Ah the days of playing with horny toads. Love this one. I have just the place for it, but I don't know if my wife would approve. Still, a great work.

I've always wanted to see this show. Maybe one day I will get a chance but I get too tempted to want to buy a lot, LOL.
