Ruby Tuesday - Red Bellied Woodpecker

The Red Bellied Woodpecker is distinguished by a red cap and nape, white cheeks and a black and white ladder back.  The female has a red nape but the cap is white.  The belly is only faintly tinged with rose.  These are not common at my feeders.

I very nearly posted one of these little fellows on my blog this week as well. I opted for Cardinals instead. Happy Ruby Tuesday.

You do appear to have the most wonderful birds in OK.

The family of this bird is sometimes visiting our garden here in holland but to get a nice picture of her is another story. Thanks for showing. I like it.

Est-ce une photo prise dans votre jardin ? Je sais que vous n'oubliez jamais les oiseaux lors du temps d'hiver !

Nice shot, especially considering they don't visit you often!
