Wordless Wednesday - Tulsa Union Depot

The Tulsa Union Depot was the grand railroad depot in downtown Tulsa.  It is now the home of the Tulsa Symphony and a venue for a weekly Sunday night jazz performance.  It is now known as The Tulsa Jazz Depot.

That is a classy building. I have yet to see the inside.

What an awesome transition! how fitting that something so worthwhile can be located in what was once a transporation hub!

My dad worked for the Frisco for 42 years. I have spent many an hour in that building as a kid. It is one of my favorite buildings in all of Tulsa. Thanks for sharing it again.

It's amazing what they can do with transforming old buildings, so many fall into disrepair and lie derelict.

Wish I had the energy and wherewithall to visit Tulsa - it looks such an interesting city.
That place would have been my late husband's No.1 venue as he was a jazz fantic.

I've seen so many red doors on episcopal churches and never knew they were symbolic of the Holy Spirit. Thanks for the info - I got it at you comment at Driller's Place! :)

That is a handsome building. Nice that it made a home for music. I trust it has good acoustics. Were the big windows in front added recently?

Great shot. Love when they turn old buildings into something of culture.

Great art-deco building. I like how it contrasts with the more modern buildings around it, and glad it found a new role as a performance space.

This looks like the design is Aztec influenced, Bill.
