We have had a little rain off and on over the past week or so but today it got serious and has been raining all day. Looking out the back door onto our deck I decided no reasonable person would go out in the rain but it might make a nice picture.
Opening the back door gave me a clear shot of the deck without getting wet.
Just for fun I took multiple views covering the whole deck then used Autostitch to put them together. It did a nice job of showing the whole deck and I didn't get wet. Here is a bit of doggerel from long ago.
Indian Summer
Cool damp air moves past my face
carrying a gentle sweetness.
The grass lies dark
under gray skies
heavy with rain.
The hot dry days of August
have given way to September
and the break in the weather
that signals the beginning of Autumn.
There may be a few more hot days,
but the season has changed.
For awhile will come rain
to fill the ponds
and refresh the gardens.
Then it will clear and begin
what in Oklahoma is called
the Indian Summer.
Day after day of bright warm days
and cool crisp nights.
Days that call for football,
and long quiet walks,
and cookouts under the oak trees.

Nice deck!
I guess the flowers are finding the rain quite reasonable after the hot summer!
Great reason to take some pictures, everything looks so lush! And it sounds like a great reason to use your picture software, double bonus.
I enjoy the rain.
I enjoy drizzle, grey drizzle, grey cold drizzle, with running gutters and masses of leaves.
You can tell from that that Sydney has mostly sunny days and blue skies!
nice. hope it dries up for you soon...i enjoyed the verse....particualrly for me what was a call for autumn in the close...happy tt!
Rain was my reason for not going out today too... plus an overflowing plateful of rain. But you sure have a nice view out there!
Everything about this Theme Thursday is so refreshing. The rain, the pictures, the words.

Love your deck. I wish mine were larger. Nice photos, too. I like rainy days, myself. Of course, I also like sunshiny ones. :)
lovely poem!
I bet the flowers are enjoying the long cool drink.
it's a rainy day here and, other than letting my son jump in the puddles, i see no reason to go outside and get wet either. nice pictures
