Skywatch Friday - BOK Center

The newest venue on the Tulsa Skyline is the handsome BOK Center; the BOK being the Bank of Oklahoma of course.  It is state of the art and can go from Rodeo arena to Ice Rink overnight.  For an idea of size please note the automobile in the far lower right corner.  It is very nice inside with 20,000 seats on 3 levels.  The interior is completely open so there are no bad seats.

Great blue sky to showcase this building.

That sky would look artificial if I put it in a painting! What a building!!

Well, that IS a handsome bank... and with that perfect blue sky, they should buy your image and use it in their marketing material! :-)

PS. Fast fingers here... handsome CENTER, not bank...

That's massive! Interesting architecture and you caught it under a beautiful sky.

This is the best I have ever seen this building look. I'm not a fan of the platelets on the exterior as they present multiple joints to stain and leak, but this is a great capture of a very contemporary building. Well done.

I still like Union Depot and the Fairgrounds Pavilion better.

Impressive building, is that solar panelling on the top left. Just wondering as there is a football stadium over here that has solar panels and is completely self sufficient.

I'm confused, is there a bank in that building as well?

I think there may be an ATM station in there, but no bank. The Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) paid some rather large sum of money to get their name on the building. They are the "Corporate Sponsor".

Great pic Bill. Despite all the naysaying when it was proposed I tink the community has really come to enjoy the facility. They have had some really good groups and performers.

I love the open concept and they really finished it nice inside.
