Cooling Off at the Quik-Trip Plaza

When the high temperature gets up to 104F (40C) the little water park at 41st and Riverside is a popular spot for kids looking to cool off. Susan took Molly and Will there for a splash and they had lots of company.

This part of the Riverpark was completely remodeled during the past year thanks to corporate sponsorship by Quik-Trip the chain of ubiquitous convenience stores. They are good stores, they have most everything you need, and they are open 24 hours a day.

I know 40C is really hot, yet I wouldn't mind that right now... it was 9C yesterday night in Ottawa - worse summer ever!

Zhu - too bad we can't average it out.

That picture looks such fun for the children - I'd love a go on a trampoline!

We've had a beautiful summer thus far in England but our highest temperature has only reached 30C and then people complained that it was "too hot". We English love to moan about our weather fluctuations - we're either too hot or too cold OR, as in today's weather - too wet. Me? I love to see the sunshine.

Looks like a great place to chill in :-)

We've never had 40C in Oslo, Norway - some weeks ago we had 30, but now it's down to 20 again.
