Macro Monday - Hungry Koi Fish
The Koi in the pond at Philbrook Art Center are quite accustomed to being feed a handful of crumbs tha;t when a visitor stops to look at the fish they hurry over and get into position for a treet. They look exceptionally well fed but still, one hates to disappoint such a lovely fish..

SOOC - The King of Beasts
Tulsa has a nice zoo located in Mohawk Park north of the city. Our big African Lion is looking regal as always.
Straight Out Of the Camera (SOOC) is a meme for photos that have not been tweaked or altered. In other words, straight out of the camera.

The Indoor Pool at Hearst Castle
In October of 2004 we visited Hearst Castle while in Monterrey visiting out son Paul and his wife Beth. They took us to the spectacular Hearst Castle, built by newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. This is one view of the indoor swimming pool.

Skywatch Friday - Desert Sunrise
My son David just came home from a visit to Iraq with the Oklahoma Air Guard. While he was there he took a few photos that he shared with me. It is very seldom that I post a photo that is not my own but I think this sunrise is exceptional. Thank you Sgt Miller.

Thursday Challenge: Soft - Purple Fountain Grass
I really like ornamental grasses, but I have never planted any in my flower beds. I resolve to remedy that. These were part of the beautiful Cantigny Gardens in St. Louis.

Wordless Wednesday - Midtown Doors
What interested me most about this handsome old house was the neatly trimmed ivy around the windows.

Macro Monday - Wee Wren Walks
My newest granddaughter little Miss Wren Miller is walking already and not quite 10 months old. Of course we think she is very advanced. The family gathered today to greet David on his return from Iraq and everyone was encouraging Wren as she tottered from one person to another.

Weekend Black and White - Under the Sassafras Trees
My neighbor across the street. The bright yellow leaves look almost white when converted to monochrome.

Ruby Tuesday - The Last Roses of Summer
Despite our dry summer the recent rain has invigorated the Tulsa Rose Garden and it is a riot of bloom. We may have roses for several more weeks but frost is coming. We have to enjoy it while we can.

Weekend Black and White - Lunch with Miss Wren
I had the distinct pleasure of sharing lunch with my youngest granddaughter Miss Wren Alston Miller on Friday noon. Her daddy and mommy were with us and it was nice to see Luke and Cara again. We enjoyed some fishy treats at the White River Fish Market. At 9 months of age Wren is on the verge of walking without assistance and seems to have figured out that if she smiles a lot the world is her oyster. She is a darling.

Thursday Challenge: Creative - My Son Adam
Adam is my eldest son and a very creative guy. He does marketing and advertising for an upscale Resort/Spa/Restaurant so he is creative for a living. But being creative is just naturally part of who he is.
He is an excellent cook and excels in a variety of styles to include Italian, Cajun, Chinese, and has become something of a Sushi Chef. It has been awhile since I have sampled some of his Sushi and would enjoy it again sometime - soon. (hint, hint)
He loves music and has been known to play trumpet, tuba, fiddle and guitar. Not content to just play a guitar he has constructed several. My favorite is made from a large cigar box. The tone is a bit thin but it plays well and has a unique appearance. Actually he plays quite well with some friends on Saturday night and at his church on Sunday morning.
When the ageing family dachshund injured his back and was unable to walk Adam fashioned a little cart to support his hind quarters, The dog happily scooted around as quickly as before. I could give many other examples of how how is creative in a very practical way. Adam is a clever fellow, a good dad to his two lovely daughters, and I am very proud of him. I am proud of all 3 of my sons of course but today is Adam's turn in the spotlight.

Ruby Tuesday - The Trees are Turning
After the hot dry summer I was afraid that we would not have good color this fall but the trees that show color early in the season are looking good.
