The Grandkids are Here!

In celebration of a visit by Molly and Will, we went out to breakfast at our favorite restaurant, the Blue Dome Diner, where my son Luke is the first cook.

Susan's daughter Jennifer and her two kids Willy and Molly arrived last evening and will stay for the summer. Husband and father Jeff will stay in Missouri to look for a job. US unemployment is growing and approaching 10%. Unfortunately, Jeff is one of the 14.5 million Americans who were laid off and are looking for work. Knowing that a lot of other people are in the same situation is not much compensation. Jeff is a very bright and capable guy and we are hoping things will turn around soon. In the meantime, Susan gets to fuss over her grandchildren.

I certainly hope it can find a job soon. It must be a hard situation... my father lost his job two years ago and still hasn't found a steady position yet. Economic crisis in Europe too...

A sign of the times sadly. We're the same over here. I'm not sure whether to congratulate or commiserate with having two children for the summer. Most of my friends' attitude is it's lovely to see them come but it's also lovely to see them go! Hope you'll still find time to do your blog entry in the midst of playing football or board games!

What a nice gathering - nothing is like having your family around you!

I'll become grandfather for the first time in 3 month :-)

Btw: Sorry I haven't been around that much lately. Have been travelling and my first post from Budapest is up.

Grandchildren are a blessing and we enjoy ours very much. Molly and Will are really good kids, but we forget how much energy kids have. They do liven up the place.
