Lunch at the Korean Garden

Sue had a lunch date with a girl friend so I ate lunch at the Korean Garden. This is Yook Gae Jang, a hot spicy soup with shredded beef and vegetables in a clay pot so hot the soup is served bubbling.

It is served with a selection of side dishes and rice, of course. On the side plate is cucumber kinchi, chop chae, spinach, bean sprouts, stir fried cuttlefish, and a few slices of sushi. I love Korean food. It is a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Very delicious.

I have such a boring palate in comparison to you - roast beef and yorkshire puddings - my meal of choice. If I want to go "exotic" then I do enjoy Italian cuisine, is that an oxymoron or a mixed up metaphor?

Roast beef sounds good, but what is Yorkshire pudding? There is nothing wrong with good Italian food. I love it all.

Et je suis toujours faim. La cuisine française est la meilleure.

Hello,
je ne connais pas la cuisine coréenne mais je reconnais bien au fond le traditionnel verre d'eau de bienvenue des restaurants américains !
Bon dimanche !

Yorkshire pudding is a savoury batter mix which is served with onion gravy PRIOR to the main course of roast beef. Restaurants often serve Yorkshires with beef but that's a no-no.

The batter is put into a tin of hot fat and oven-cooked for about 30 mins. It rises on the outside and the inner well makes a lovely holder for the onion gravy.
