Fishing on the Arkansas River

There are a number of good places to fish along the river.  The prize catch is a nice Striped Bass.

Hello !
What great place to fish, we are far from my village pond. you just have a long fishing line to reach the water! What kinds of fish caught there here?
Have a nice day

I must say, from your photographs, Tulsa looks such a pretty place.
Is it a holiday destination as well as a place to live?

Is that down by the 21st St bridge? I live on Riverside but down near the casino so i don't usually get that far north. Now I have a very good reason to. Your picture is gorgeous!

Really wonderful picture, Bill. I think Anonymous needs to come to Tulsa to see what a great destination place we are! The museums, the Riverwalk that stretches for miles, the bike trails, the outdoor events! It's a great place to live!

I have never fished in the river so I can't say for sure what kinds of fish are there. I see in the newspaper that people catch some nice striped bass there but also catfish, carp and drum, probably some perch. Sort of the usual.

Tulsa is generally an attractive place to live or visit. I don't think of it as a holiday destination because I live here.

The USA in general and Northeastern Oklahoma in particular is more spread out than Europe and has more recreational land available for public access. Tulsa has a nice river but within an hour's drive from Tulsa are 6 large lakes all with places to camp, swim, fish and even hunt in season. People take power boats to the lake, camp for the weekend, water ski, etc., and pay little more than the cost of beer and groceries. This is a great place to live.
