I'm with both of you on this one.
I absolutely adore books BUT am not keen on second-hand ones. I like books in pristine condition.
When I've finished with them they go to the charity shop for recycling to other discerning readers.

Je passe aussi beaucoup de temps dans les librairies mais je commande souvent en ligne car Amazon livre sous 48 h et sans frais de port.
De plus, j'habite un tout petit village ;°)

Anne - I order used books through Amazon.com all the time. They are a lot less expensive that way. Or I use the library. I know what you mean about a nice fresh new book, but my budget is limited.
Are you coping with Sharon's return to Hawaii? Maybe it is nice to get your house back. :)
Elleona - J'aime lire et d'ordonner un certain nombre de livres sur Amazon. Si c'est un vieux livre que j'ai utilisé, il peut ordonner à un faible prix. Depuis je marche lentement avec une canne et de l'Internet est mon endroit préféré pour faire des achats. Passez une bonne semaine.
I admit I have had some "used" books through Amazon and have to say they have, in the main, been in really good condition. It's just that my preference is a brand new book - untouched by anyone else's hands but mine. I'm quirky that way!!
I have got used to Sharon's absence. I really have no choice in the matter as she has lived on American soil since she was 20 and it is her 48th birthday this month.
She'll kill me for giving that away! Mind you, her big brother will be 51 the day before - three years and one day between the two of them!
I am so lucky this year as she will be home for five days in September, we have never seen each other so quickly since she left home so something to look forward to.
