Black & White Weekend - Maxxwells Restaurant Bar
Sue and I had dinner tonight at Maxxwells Restaurant in the Campbell Hotel at 11th and Columbia on historic Route 66 in Tulsa. Built in 1927 it had shops on the lower floor and was the Casa Loma hotel on the second floor. The building was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 2010, and was restored and remodeled into a boutique hotel and restaurant in 2011. See HERE. It has good food and friendly service. Nice place.

Skywatch friday - View from the North
Here is a view of the BOK Tower from the north, specifically from Brady looking south on Boston Avenue. For a more familiar view of the same building from 5th Street looking north on Boston Avenue as well as some interesting facts about the history of the BOK Tower, see my post from January 10, 2010.

Weekend Reflections - Building in a Building
The elegant Mayo hotel was built in 1925. Here it is reflected in the glass facade of the very modern ONEOK building built in 1984. These grand buildings are neighbors across the street from each other at 5th and Main in downtown Tulsa.

Skywatch Friday - A Little Blue
For the last several days Tulsa has been cold and rainy. Here is a sky from earlier in the year with some nice fluffy clouds and a little blue sky underneath. Nice, eh?

Ruby Tuesday - Christmas Eucharist
As part of grandson Grant's baptism on Christmas Eve was a celebration of the Eucharist, also known as the Lord's Supper, and as Holy Communion, or simply the Mass. In the Episcopal Church poinsettias are often used in lieu of flowers at Christmas.

Driving back through Tennessee we got some heavy rain that turned to snow just outside of Nashville. We have stopped for the night and will continue in the morning. The forecast is for cold and sunny. The snow has already stopped.

Thursday Challenge - Colorful Performance
While in Washington DC we attended the old Ford Theater where we saw a performance of Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol". The performance was excellent and it was interesting to be in such a historic venue with the presidential box where President Lincoln was shot still draped in flags and bunting just as it was in 1865.
