Skywatch Friday - It's Cold Out!

Winter has come and today was cold and gray with sleet and snow.  The birdies were grateful for some seed.  The low in the morning is forecast to be 6 degrees F with 6 more inches of snow.  Sue laid in some provisions and we plan to stay in tomorrow.

  2. Best place to be when it snows. I filled up my bird feeders yesterday as we're "threatened" with some snow fall.

  8. We are probably going to put out our feeders.

I'm sitting here watching the news. I'm not going to hurry into work this morning. Too much bumper cars going on.

  9. We will stay hunkered down in the home place. I'll probably build a fire in the fireplace and we will finish decorating the house for Christmas. We have no plans to venture out today.

  11. Awww, those sweet feathered friends look very grateful indeed for your thoughtful kindness! I'm quite certain the one looking at you was saying "Thank you!" and the other one with his eyes closed appears to be saying a contented, "nom nom nom…" :-)

Staying home is a good idea. It's -8º here right now with wind chills of -25º so you can bet the dogs and I are holed up inside. Wish I could say the same for my poor UPS man husband, who is more popsicle than human after working in these temps since Tuesday!

  12. My son is currently at Altus AFB for boom operator school. He sent me a few pix this morning of the snow. Here in South Carolina it's 75 degrees with sun and a beautiful breeze. Amazing how much of a difference 1,200 miles can make!~ Merry Christmas.

We are only expecting a chilly rain day tomorrow but I too intend to stay indoors!

  14. Such a sweet image Bill, I think the birds really appreciate the seed in winter.
