I know absolutely nothing about dogs but hadn't realised Smokey was a pit bull. I think they're a banned species over here.
However, Smokey doesn't look as though he'd hurt a fly.

They are by nature very gentle dogs. They have to be abused to become viscious. Smokey assumes that everyone loves him and therefore loves everybody. He is especially gentle around little children. I think he senses they are delicate and is careful with them. Smokey is the best dog I have ever had, and I have had a lot of dogs.
