Skywatch Friday - Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach
The iconic Lone Cypress on the 17 mile drive at Pebble Beach, California. I took this in 2003 when Sue and I were visiting Paul and Beth in Monterrey. It is estimated to be 250 years old and is arguably the most photographed tree in the world.
Cet arbre aura vu tant de choses, entendu tant d'amoureux et essuyé mille coups de vent mais il se dresse toujours égal à lui-même et à sa beauté pour contempler l'infini de la mer. "Que sont les siècles pour la mer".. a dit un écrivain français Max Gallo... Bisous de France.
I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on. I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.
I posted a shot of that lone cypress back in Oct or Nov of 2010- I must say I like your photo much better-more ocean and scenery in yours. Beautiful place, beautiful pic. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
A beautiful shot that brings back some lovely memories of Monterey, Pebble Beach and Carmel. We ran two motels during the time we lived in Monterey. We went to see the Lone Cypress several times, and walked around Point Lobos and China Cove, where we had little wild birds land on our hands to eat proffered seed.

Been there and photographed it - I never tire of viewing that lone cypress.
