There is another foot bridge over Crow Creek at the southern edge of Philbrook's 23 acres.
The vertical stone wall that forms the creek bank give way to the riprap that lines the rest of Crow Creek. Click on the images to enlarge them. X marks the spot on the map where the bridge is located.

ReplyDeleteThat looks like a good place to play Pooh sticks:-)
ReplyDeleteAnother elegant footbridge over Crow Creek.
ReplyDeleteah, now I know what riprap is!
ReplyDeleteI like the undulating form of the stone wall.
Nice bridge, great reflection shots.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a gorgeous place, so much greenery! Looks like a frog haven underneath.
ReplyDeleteThe stone wall and rip rap are much nicer than the concrete walls of the Los Angeles river.
ReplyDeleteEven the rip rap is much more natural than that behind the house we lived in near Bishop, CA. There the rip rap was encased in chicken wire and was quite ugly.
This place looks like a lovely oasis to retreat to.
