The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska, Oklahoma is the largest protected area of tallgrass prairie on Earth, spanning 39,000 acres. The current expanse was purchased from private ownership in 1989 and is now managed by the Nature Conservancy to be enjoyed as a scenic drive. There is a sizable herd of Buffalo in here but we didn't see any this trip. Read more in Wikipedia.

ReplyDeleteMust be great to drive past this road with the sprawling greens ard. Lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteLove this capture. It has a great rural feel and expresses the wide open space that is the prairie. Excellent work, as always.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I love the green grass and the feeling that the prairie goes on forever. I've been up there three times in the last year.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this road doesn't end! And it seems tiny compared to the prairie.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you in that tornado belt when those storms rolled through glad you & your family are OK. Stay dry!
