I love everything about this building. It is everything a building that was built by an oil man, during the oil boom should be. Thanks for sharing this image.
Anne - Waite Phillips was one of the famous Phillips brothers of Phillips 66 fame. They were generous is naming things after themselves. In addition to the Philcade (Phillips Arcade), There is the Philtower also downtown whose revenues go to support the Philmont Boy Scout in Colorado, and the Philbrook Art Museum in tulsa's brookside area. There seemed nothing they enjoyed more than naming something spectacular after themselves and then giving it away. I can't forget Wolaroc ranch/game preserve/and museum west of Bartlesville.
For elevators, these are gorgeous. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteLove these marble walls! (even though I know you probably posted it for WR because of the elevator doors:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. I'm fascinated by the name "Philcade" - did Philip Cade put his name to this particular building?
