A surprising number of churches built in the early 1900s have Corinthian columns in their facade. They remind me of some government buildings built around the same time. However I have been in the First Christian and it is very nice inside. It has a wonderful stained glass dome. http://tulsagentleman.blogspot.com/2008/06/interior-of-sanctuary-dome.html
I'm glad others agree that those doors don't look at all "church-like". If you'd made this a guessing game I'm sure a church would not have been on my list.
This house of worship is large, beautiful and made of materials that we don't see used in new construction anymore. Sepia allows us to see the elegant and dignified lines so well. A true beauty!
I thought this might be a government building at first. Then read the info. Must admit, was surprised to read that it was a church. A beautiful old building, nevertheless.
Nice sepia rendition.
ReplyDeleteit reminds me of a government building more than a church. Nice pic :)
