Wordless Wednesday - Doors to the Brookside Library

The Brookside Branch of the Tulsa Public Library is just a few blocks away from our house.  It is just across the street from Wright Elementary School and is a favorite (and healthy) hangout for kids after school.  Tulsa is fortunate to have an excellent public library system.

  1. I love the soft colouring of the library. I just have to walk up the hill to my local library - maybe 200m.

  3. What a unique entryway. I enjoy the coloring. I actually am working on a project that includes lots of photographs of different doors, so this was quite enjoyable to see.

    Happy WW!

  8. There's another little library around 25th and a half block west of Sheridan that reminds me of this. I would guess they were built around the same time frame. Nicely captured.

  9. I agree with Julie's note on soft color. Nice entrance for a library... fun!

  10. Was the library built in the 60s? The wavy blue entry roof look like it belongs on a burger joint.

  11. That is some really cool architecture. I would be interested to see the rest of the building.

  12. This certainly is modern art after the historic and ornate doorways you've been featuring!

  13. Bonsoir.
Une porte colorée fort attirante pour entrer et aller fouiner dans les rayons de livres.
    Bisous.

  15. The Brookside Library was remodeled and expanded in about 1995. A lot of the Brookside commercial district was built up during the 1950s so it was decided to give the library a "50s" look. Some like it and some don't but it does look kind of like a burger joint.
