When I was a little boy my mother wrote stories for me. As I recall they were about families of elves who lived in old gnarley trees. She knew an artist who did some drawings for a future book. I think what I remember most was the ink drawings of gnarly old trees covered with little stairs leading to small thatched huts with little chimneys and shuttered windows. I don't know what happened to the stories or the drawings but when I see a gnarly old tree I always look for elves and their little houses.
Your post made me so happy! This is exactly how I want my children to grow up! I've even begun writing stories for them, and I probably won't be having any babies for at least another year or two. You win for best post ever!

Hello I live in Canada, and a friend of mine took a digital photo of a narly elf, many awful things happened to her after that, a car crash,went down a sink hole,her mother lost six lambs on the farm,money taken, and I ended up with four photos of him on my digital and I did not take the photos.
